DNA is the predominant information carrier for life. The development of synthetic techniques to construct DNA has led to marked improvements in our ability to understand and engineer biology. Oligonucleotides, or oligos, are short single strands of synthetic DNA or RNA that serve as the starting point for many molecular biology and synthetic biology applications. Column-based oligo synthesis is the first-generation technology for oligo synthesis, which is underway in our lab. A washing solution and other reagents are introduced using the fluidic system below.
